Education for Photographers
As your wedding day approaches there will be many things to think about, decisions to take and errands to run. One of the most important decisions that you need to take is the choosing of the place where you would like to take your engagement and wedding photos. This is because at the end of the day, your photos will be the one of the main things that will help you remember your road to the wedding day.
To make things simpler for our brides we have decided to take some time and develop a list of places that we consider to be the best New York locations for engagement and wedding pictures. We believe that there is not a one size fits all when it comes to weddings. However, according to your style and likings there is definitely a place to help incapsulate it.
These are some of our favorites New York Area Photography Locations
Central Park without a doubt is the most iconic park in New York City, not to say the most visited in the World. Yup!! Central Park is an amazing location for any wedding photography or engagement photography in New York City. There are a vast amount of options to choose from when it comes to taking pictures at this gorgeous location. Whether it is at the Pool, the Mall, the Bow Bridge or Bethesda Terrace your photos will be nothing short from stunning. One thing about Central Park is that since it is a very famous place there are a lot of people most of the time but the park is so big that there a lot of places where you can have some private moments while taking photos.
This park is a nice option for couple that would like to have a park like feeling while still being in the city but doesn’t want to go to a crowded and bigger park such as Central Park. It is a pretty cool location for engagement photos.
A great location for engagement pictures if you want to begin with an urban scenery. It is very close to Central Park, therefore after pictures you can walk to the park and take some more pictures there.
The High Line is a lovely location with a park/urban feeling. Believe it or not The High Line use to be a real train line running from 34th Street to St John’s Park Terminal, at Spring Street. Photos at this location are nothing but cool. There is no need for a permit for this location, but one thing we can tell you is that it can get very crowded. There are all the way from students taking photos for their college classes(I remember those days) to tourists taking photos and other couples taking engagement and wedding photos. In addition, there are many restaurants, cobblestone streets and other cool photo locations in the surrounding neighborhoods.
When you think about New York City, what comes to mind is the skyline, the empire state building, Brooklyn Bridge and downtown views. Well, with that being said in Brooklyn Bridge Park you receive all that as a bundle. The views from the park are stunning and iconic. Not only do you get the views but you can also enjoy the lovely cobblestone streets, graffiti walls, new chic restaurants and the Brooklyn Roasting Company on DUMBO.
This park is gorgeous, the boathouse can be an amazing choice for engagement photos and wedding photos. It is convenient if you want to avoid crowds. The Lullwater Bridge is beautiful and allows you to have the Boathouse and the lake in the frame while taking photos.
Brooklyn Botanical Garden is a very lovely spot to take engagement photos and wedding pictures. The weekends can be a little hectic due to the fact that is crowded but if you are taking engagement pictures during the week it should be any problem.
This gem in the Bronx would be the perfect backdrop for any engagement or wedding photography. With access to many lovely gardens and paths your pictures will look nothing but adorable.
This is another cozy location in the Bronx. It is very beautiful and it is not crowded. The castle is perfect for those looking for romantic pictures, while the boardwalk is a beautiful scenery for those that love the water. You do need to get a permit due to the fact that many brides decide to take wedding pictures.
It is a beautiful Charles II style mansion designed by George A, Crawley. The views and it’s amazing gardens will definitely be a charm for either your engagement session or you wedding photos. There is a fee for the session, but you can find more information by accessing their webpage.
The views at this location are amazing. This place is famous for many commercials, TV shows, documentaries and bridal magazines. Having your pictures taken here will be a dream. If you want to obtain more information on their site.
The views at this location can be as stunning as no other. However, there is a problem, which is that the only way to avoid the crowds in this place is to be there really really early in the morning.
We sincerely hope that this list helps each one of you in your journey to the perfect location for your engagement and wedding pictures.
Sincerely,
